Liz Grossman has been a Chicago-based writer, editor, and storyteller for 25 years. She’s served as managing editor and editor-in-chief of Plate magazine, a national, award-winning trade publication for the professional chef industry. In 2017, she covered the Bocuse d'Or in Lyon, France, and wrote a long-form story about Team USA’s gold medal win. The feature won her a Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Profile in 2018. She and her team at Plate went on to win Neal awards for the Burnt issue, the No Waste issue, the Longevity issue, and the Travel issue. As co-founder of live storytelling series, Between Bites, Liz is passionate about live lit and giving back to the Chicago food community. Her own live storytelling experience includes reading from her middle school dairy as part of the Netflix series, The Mortified Guides. She’s participated as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels Chicago, Friends of the Chicago River, and Culinary Care. She has also served as a speaker/moderator for the Culinary Institute of America and Mise conferences.
